Parkinson is one of the most common chronic neurodegenerative diseases eventually leading. UParkinson is an organization specializing in this type of disorder, which asked me to create an illustrative poster for its medical consultation services.

In earlier times, mistletoe was considered the symbol representing the fight against Parkinson's disease and was thought to be a powerful protective amulet. It was believed to have healing properties that combat atherosclerosis and hypertension and was attributed with the power to protect and heal magically.

I drew inspiration from these stories to create a series of illustrations depicting the different stages of mistletoe's life. The overlap between the drawings metaphorically represents the degeneration of patients' bodies affected by Parkinson's disease, as seen through the lens of nature's life cycle.

Although the mistletoe illustration was ultimately used for the poster, I also experimented with other plants, shapes, and intricate details to explore different outcomes.
